Chris Hemsworth Joins Ghostbusters Reboot

We all know who you’re gonna call if you find yourself with a serious case of ghosts and now we know who’ll answer that call. Next year’s Ghostbusters reboot may sport an all-female cast of busters of ghosts, but it looks like there will still be room for at least a little testosterone. With production on the July 22nd, 2016 release set to begin this summer, director Paul Feig took to Twitter to announce the addition of the first male cast member, Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. Feig revealed that Hemsworth will take on the role of the Ghostbuster’s receptionist, originally played by Annie Potts in the first two films. Hemsworth will join previously announced cast members Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones with production set to begin this month. According to Variety, Hemsworth was approached by the studio early in the development process, but initially turned down the role, because it was too small. The role was then reworked to play a more significant part in the film. According to Deadline’s sources, his character decides to assist the Ghostbusters, because nobody else wants to work with them. Before Hemsworth answers the Ghostbuster’s calls, he’ll show off his funny side in another reboot of an 80’s comedy – this summer’s Vacation where he’ll play husband to Leslie Mann’s “Aubrey Griswold”, daughter of Chevy Chase’s “Clark Griswold”.
